Bad luck

In order to save money on food, I join a CSA and buy meat in bulk.

Well, it's supposed to save us money, anyway.  During CSA season, we really only have to buy things like cereal, seasonings and potatoes... and milk.  Always milk.  The kids go through a ton of it.

The meat cost us about $500 last March, and it's just now running out.  The CSA was about $400.  It worked great last year, except for not having enough money when the cow was slaughtered.  The farmer was wonderful and allowed us to make payments.  Fast forward to this year, we don't have the money again!

I'd PLANNED to have it, I even set up a credit card payment that would more than cover the meat cost... except we got $350 less than I thought we would for July.  I had NO NOTICE, and now I've got no idea what to do.

I can't pay $500 tomorrow, because I don't have it, and I really want to get the meat.  The farmer does not deserve to be screwed over, and neither does the slaughterhouse.  (I paid a deposit a few months ago.  When the cow got slaughtered, the farmer invoiced me the balance.  We're supposed to pay him, then go to the slaughter house, pay processing fees and pick our beef up.  That was supposed to happen two weeks ago)

I'm really not sure what to do, other than try to explain.  I hate making excuses.

Something else is that my daughter's service facilator has changed and I have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  I'm nervous about meeting her tomorrrow, and worried that the place won't be clean enough!

One more thing, my Grandfather is in the hospital!  We just lost my Grandma in May, and I really don't want him to be sick.  I need my Grandfather around for years and years and years.
